Didn't I mention something about a giveaway last week?
I believe this little blog has a few things to celebrate...over 200 posts, a belated 1 year anniversary, and closing in on 300 followers. Sounds like it's about time for a giveaway, right?
How about a gift certificate from my favorite new fabric shop?
My sweet friend Jennifer recently opened her very own fabric store, Knotted Thread and is building up a fun selection of fresh modern fabrics like these Riley Blake chevrons that I may have bought last night...
So, who wants to win $30 of fabric goodness?
Just leave me a comment telling me...What is your drink of choice at your favorite coffee house?
We don't have any fun local coffee shops around here, but a couple of times a year I get out to a Starbucks and am always so excited to try something new. But then when I pull up to order (because you know I'm not going in with 4 kids...), I get total stage-fright and can't come up with anything and default to a Caramel Macchiato because that is the only drink I actually know the name of. Not that Caramel Macchiatos aren't great, but it would be nice to get something else for a change. And don't even get me started on all the "skinny, non-fat, no-whip, soy, iced" business. There are just too many options!
So there you go...one entry per person, giveaway will close when I remember to close it, probably Thursday afternoon...or Friday morning...
Giveaway closed...Congratulations, Valerie!
**All images shamelessly stolen from Jennifer**
Yay for Jennifer! I'm on a fabric buying ban because I can't stop buying other stuff and I had to cut back somewhere, but I still bought some from her to help out (haha, two yards isn't helping out that much but whatever)!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for coffee drinks--I also have to go to Starbucks in the big city and never go there bc I don't really drink coffee so I never know what to order. My sister orders for me! ;) I know I love mocha...after that I'm out!
It's really boring but when I go to a coffee shop I get a cup of...tea!! My favourite is Costa because you get a pot of tea (and a teaspoon!) rather than a bag in a cup of boiling water and a useless stick - sad but true!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Congratulations on all your bloggy milestones!
im pretty happy with iced coffee most of the time, unless its gingerbread latte time of the year. i always get misty when i drink them cause they are delicious and i always associate them with buying my first house. (it was winter and my realtor always wanted to meet at starbucks)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteDouble-tall skinny vanilla latte is my coffee bev of choice. And isn't that great about Jennifer's shop - very fun give-away!
ReplyDeletechai, chai, chai! Congratulations on one year of blogging!
ReplyDeleteAn Americano with room is my choice!
ReplyDeleteI don't go out to coffee houses -- mostly because I don't drink coffee at all and tea rarely, and WM has his own espresso machine! But I do love a lime ice cream soda (or lime spider)!
ReplyDeleteMy default is caramel machiato too...with non-fat milk
ReplyDeleteYup, caramel macchiato for me as well, except in the fall. I do like the pumpkin spice latte. Thanks for a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Daily Grind where I live and I orderred something different the last time, Caramel Bianca, it's a frappe of sorts. It was awesome!
ReplyDeleteI like lattes. I usually don't like them flavored because I like to taste the coffee, but I do like pumpkin spice this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThere certainly is a lot to celebrate!! I saw on Instagram that she was opening up this shop and I got really excited.
ReplyDeleteAll I can think about right now is iced coffee with Pumpkin. I'll be so sad when it goes away.
I love hot tea or hot cocoa! I'm not much on coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteWell, since moving I don't have a favorite coffee house anymore. But when I did, it was always a huge cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream
ReplyDeleteNo coffee for me, I can't stand the taste, even coffee ice cream is out! In the summer a Cinnamon Dolce Crème Frappuccino is right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteI used to work upstairs from a really nice independent coffee shop. The habit could have quickly gotten out of hand so I limited myself to one chai latte every Friday for a special treat. I recently found myself in the neighborhood of the shop and went in for old time's sake. They had a new menu item that I just had to try - Vietnamese iced coffee which is just iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk in it. So delicious!
ReplyDeleteI ususally drink a capuccino when I'm out. there isn't a choice of flavored coffee her in the Netherlands like in other parts of the world... :-(
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win :-)
I don't drink coffee but I've gradually gotten used to the smell cause hubby drinks it. I actually wouldn't even know what anything on the menu meant! I did go check out their menu and what sounds good to me is a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWell, we have one local coffee shop owned by friends of ours and there I order a drink called "Benson Mist" - their version of what's usually called a London Fog, I think. It's a tea based drink. At Starbucks I'll order a skinny tall vanilla latte and at Tim Hortons I usually order either a small iced cap or a medium double-double (ask, if you're curious what that means!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not coffee lover but I love Green tea Frappuccino from Starbucks,
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I do not often go out for coffee! I do grind whole beans of dark coffees at home before each pot, and love the ritual of it -- and the fabulous aroma of fresh-brewed coffee!
ReplyDeleteAmericano or expresso for me please!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all the fabulous milestones Toni! I'm not much of a coffee drinker except the one cup a day in the morning! I actually can't live without it! During the summer I will occasionally drop in at Tim Horton's for an iced cappuccino. Thanks for a great giveaway, and I'll have to check out Jennifer's shop!
ReplyDeleteMocha Latte :-D
ReplyDeletevanilla lattes....mmm.
ReplyDeleteI am not a coffee drinker at all! Diet Coke used to be my drink of choice, but I'm working on giving it up. So, I have to go with green tea. BOring!
ReplyDeleteI don't like coffee, so I always get tea. I drink tea all day, every day, iced or hot. Congratulations on your milestones!
ReplyDeleteMy go to is a big fat iced latte :) even in the winter time!
ReplyDeleteI am so boring, its always a big fat hot chocolate with whipped cream and a flake. I don't have it any other time, so it's always a treat
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the milestone! I (unfortunately?) have developed quite the Starbucks habit, which is pretty funny since I dont' actually drink coffee. I get a non-fat, with-whip hot chocolate. :) Thanks for the chance to win - love those chevrons!
ReplyDeleteMy son used to work at Starbucks and would make me the most amazing Caramel Machiato (hope I'm spelling it right). Loved them until I found out how many calories were in them!!!! So I started making my own coffee goodness - mix good quality coffee with hazelnut coffee (half and half) and brew that up. Then add in hot milk with Ghiradelli white mocha mixed in (half and half). Then top with chocolate RediWhip. Loved that - until every store in the greater Baltimore/DC metroplex stopped selling the whipped cream (maybe RediWhip stopped making it). ARRRRRGGGGG. Now I go to Dunkin Donuts and get a hazelnut coffee, but it's just not the same. Oh well, we move on when we must :)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue chevron on the top of that stack! :) There is a coffee shop called Aroma Joe's near me, & my new fav drink from there is Witches Brew. love it when the name of the drink is as good as the drink itself :) thanks for the giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it's fall it has to be a pumpkin spiced latte!!! If not I just like iced coffee with vanilla soymilk for flavor :)
ReplyDeleteYay, Toni! Congrats on all these reasons to celebrate. I too adore a caramel macchiato, but for a real treat get yourself quickly to Caribou's and order a spiced mocha latte. It's all cinnamony and smooth, and they ask if you want milk, white, or dark chocolate -as in real chocolate that gets all melty and yummy. But, if you don't have a lot of coffee house options nearby, might I suggest you get a Tassimo machine?? You can make delicious lattes at home, it froths the milk and everything. It will change your life for the better:). I am not exaggerating when I say that every day when I have that first sip, I am so thankful in my heart that something so good is possible to make at home. Corny, I know, but true none the less:)
ReplyDeleteI live on starbucks coffee frappachino without the whipped cream. I wish your friend well with her new store, I am off to check it out!
ReplyDeleteGood lord I like a nice pot of tea, at home!! I can't stand the smell of coffee, so I really am no help.
ReplyDeleteYay for Jennifer though xxx
i like mine black thanks for the giveaway
ReplyDeletewhoop whoop!! congratulations!! I don't drink cows milk (except when I'm pregnant?!!) so I normally go for a soya latte, it's so warming and nice and sweet too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big coffee drinker so when we go to starbucks, I get either an iced black tea or a carmel apple spice!
ReplyDeletePumpkin spice skinny latte--a really tall one. Thanks for doing the giveaway...and reminding me I need to go to a coffee house...
ReplyDeleteI work from home, both professionally and then babysit grand kids. Then in my free time I quilt. I don't really have time to visit coffee shops. My favorite drink is Turkey Hill diet green ice tea-then iced coffee with chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a tea drinker but usually order a mocha when I am in a coffee shop, like you I am always a bit overwhelmed by the choice.
ReplyDeleteI love a soy honey latte! So exciting to have a friend with a fabric shop, thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I don't drink coffee, so I usually order an unsweetened iced tea. I always get a Bavarian creme donut at DD though!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Toni on all of these great milestones! I am also very excited for Jennifer. :) I like to try lots of different drinks, but in the fall salted caramel mochas are the best.
ReplyDeleteomg. omg. omg! I went to the shops and all those dots! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say that I'm not a coffee lover. I will usually purchase water and some little snack when I'm in a coffee house with friends. :-)
Congats on your milestones Toni! I really like Cafe Latte or will have an Iced Coffee in summer.
ReplyDeleteNo fun coffee places in my neck of the woods, does a large diet coke from the drive thru at McDonalds count??
ReplyDeleteI would just have to hope that they had Coke on tap, too. No hot liquids for this girl, but I do love the smell of hot chocolate :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your milestones! I love a good vanilla latte!
ReplyDeleteMy usual is a non-fat latte but at this time of year they have a pumpkin spice latte that is really good especially if it is half sweet!
ReplyDeleteBarb@Witsend
Congrats! Am sure you'll have 300 + 10000000000 followers before hitting your 2nd anniversary. A huh. I challenge you. ;)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'd better play along and enter this awesome giveaway. I'm just a big kid at heart so always default to either a hot chocolate (with marshmallows!) or an iced chocolate, depending on the weather. Mmm chocolate...
lol, I love the Caramel Macchiato - it is my usual go-to: hot in the winter, and iced in the summer. Except for those magical months of November and December when the !! ** Gingerbread Latte ** !! is available at Starbucks... I wait for those all year!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I typically buy water or juice at coffee shops, but occasionally I splurge and buy a sinful caramel caffeinated beverage. I can't do plain coffee, but when there are lots of sweet flavors added I'm all for it.
ReplyDeleteMine is hot chocolate simply because I can't drink coffee (makes me ill) and don't like tea.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you and for Jennifer! I actually can't stand coffee, but I enjoy the occasional caramel frappecino, peppermint hot chocolate, or decaf tea.
Abraços do Brasil.

Americano. Sadly it always has to be decaf.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on everything! I don't normally do coffee houses, mostly for the kid reason mentioned above. But an iced chocolate every now and then with whipped cream... Oh yeah! Actually I could do with one now...
ReplyDeleteGreat giveway Toni and congrats on all your followers and posts! Well we don't have any chain coffee shops here (yet) but when I'm in England I love a latte or a frapacino. Here, I like a nuss nuss meaning half half. Half expresso, half milk.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your various milestones, and thanks for the chance to win :o) Unfortunately I hate both coffee and tea, so I'm not the best person to ask here, although in mid-winter I might run to the very occasional hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake (because if you're going to fall off the healthy eating bandwagon, you might as well do it in style ;o) )
ReplyDeletesuch a funny question!! well, funny to me becuase I only go to a coffee shop a few times a year with my best friend to catch up, and i always ask her to order for me because I DONT KNOW! I NEVER drink coffee except for those few times a year with her! congratulations to your friend, best wishes to a successful etsy endeavor.
ReplyDeleteMine would have to be an iced latte.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
xxxx
I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I usually just order tea. Unless they have some kind of coffee-less chocolate drink!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee. Don't like it. Wish I did so I could join the crowd at the local Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have any nice tea shops....at least not the sort that you would go into for a nice drink, and certainly not with a drive through. You can't trot out the lace table clothes at a drive thru!
My drink of choice would be a plain old Coke from Sonic! Love that ice. But, they make me so fat that I've given them up. Can't believe I havent had one in over a year....love being 60 pounds lighter. Yeah, I drank a lot of coke.
Nonfat caramel macchiato...mmmm!! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteOh it's a mOcha for me and a chocolate. That's what I picked out to buy.....
ReplyDeleteI usually go for vanilla something. Thanks for the chance! I just found your blog and i'll be a new follower. I just moved to indiana a week ago.
ReplyDeleteI love nonfat chais. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big coffee drinker either.. love the smell.. not so much the taste, so in the fall it's caramel apple spice, and in the summer either strawberry or chocolate frappe. YUM. Congrats on all of those milestones! :) Thanks for the chance to win. xo
ReplyDeleteHere in Japan, Starbucks sell matcha frappucinos!! De-LISH-ious!! Matcha is Japanese green tea, and I'm not really a tea person, but this is different - matcha is not so much hot-water-with-leaves-in-it, but has a more natural creamier taste. I suppose more like a latte!
ReplyDeleteI, erm, don't drink coffee so I don't go to coffee shops. So my Fave drink is and always has been water :)
ReplyDeleteI only ever have a simple latte, nothing fancy for me! I have 2 every day & love them - a caffeine fiend from way back. Congrats on all of the milestones!
ReplyDeleteI used to manage a coffee shop and even after trying all of the different flavors and variations my favorite is still the powdered french vanilla cappuchino that you get from the machine at 7-11.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm in the summer I drink coconut mocha light Frappachinos with soy. In the winter I drink a zen soy tea misto with soy and vanilla. In the fall it's pumpkin lattes. I have a serious Starbucks addiction. :/
