The Crochet Bug

I have seriously been bitten!

I keep seeing all of these amazing crochet projects and am dying to try it! My mom taught me just a little, but I have no idea how to read a pattern or what most of the stitches are called. Is stitches even the right word?

Here are a few of the fun things I would love to make:

Don't you love those colors?

So cozy. Supposedly a beginner's pattern.

I love this stitch. And the color.... Don't think this is for a beginner though.

I love this combination of crochet and fabric. Excellent for baby snuggling!

Don't even get me started on this cuteness!

But, you know that saying about too much of a good thing.....

I think they need an intervention.

  1. Too much of a good thing indeed! That pic is hilarious.

I had the crochet bug once, but I taught myself and I'm not sure that I ever had it totally right.

That first photo in your post is gorgeous!

  3. I love to crochet! (And yes, stitches is the right word.) I made a similar cowl from a pattern on a skein of Lion Brand's Wool Ease. It was a really quick project.

I learned how to do it from watching videos online and also picked up The Happy Hooker from Debbie Stoller. If I lived nearby I would gladly help you out. :)

Good luck and definately give it a shot!

  4. I tried to teach myself to crochet and I gave up very quickly. I hope you have more luck than I did and if you do, point me in the right direction so I can learn too!!

All the stuff you've picked is great!

  5. That hat makes me want to pick up crochet again. (And have a few kids so someone other than me would wear it. :)

If I was closer, I'd teach you! There are a few good videos on the web if you can't shake the bug...
