WIP Wednesday, vol 9

Did anyone else have to go back to last weeks WIP post to figure out what to write today?

I seem to be completely unable to recall any sewing this week, but I know some happened...

Finishes: ummm, no.

In Progress:

Kaleidoscope is backed and basted. I just realized that I never showed you the back yet, so I guess you'll have to wait till she's all done now.

Here are my fabrics for my Christmas Tree skirt from the Sew, Mama, Sew Holiday Sew-Along. I actually swapped out the red stocking fabric for a red dotty fabric but didn't get a picture  yet. I have all the pieces cut and have three of seven large stars sewn.

I've also gotten the urge to make some frame pouches thanks to my friend Rebecca Lynne and have ordered my supplies and am impatiently awaiting their arrival.

Dead Simple QAL...I've finally ordered the fabric for this, so does that count for progress?

Here's a snapshot of what has been taking me away from the sewing machine...
and my co-pilot...
It's a rough life, isn't it?

  2. That cracks me up, your little baby being lulled to sleep by the noise of the farm machinery. I grew up on a farm too, and I remember playing with all the ladybugs that would be in the grain. Weird thing to remember but anywho....lovely colors on your quilt and looking forward to seeing your tree skirt.

  3. I think that's a good reason for not having any finishes!! And yes, ordering your Dead Simple fabric definitely counts as progress!

  5. All I can think of is "Green Acres". I don't think that Zha Zha would know what to do with a baby, nor have the guts to help with the harvest; however, I am sure you look beautiful.

  15. You've been busy.. I admire you being able to squeeze some quilting time right in the middle of harvest. Here the harvest is long over and autumn has really kicked in. I feel warmer just looking at your photos. So cute with your little guy sleeping though it all :) lovely prints for the Christmas qal. Look forward to see your back for the kalaidescope quilt - I'm sure it's stunning

  20. Oh, I just got bitten by the frame purses bug too, I'm just sitting on an etsy site now being sucked into things!

I think the best thing to be said about your co-pilot is at least he won't be telling you that you've missed a bit ;o)

  22. I always have to look at my previous wip post to figure out what done. isn't that standard protocol?

I think that orange in your christmas pile is simply awful and you should just send it to me, so i can get rid of the evidence...... you're not buying this are you? darn.well I love the fabric (especially the orange), and can't wait to see what you do with it!

  31. You're quilting during harvest! Wow, that's commitment! I can't imagine.

I know how crazy harvest is for my brother and sister. Thankful it's done for the year and they are back to getting more than 4 hours sleep a day. Hopefully you make it through soon! Can't wait to see your kaleidoscope quilt quilted.

  33. I agree. Sometimes I can't recall what I have (or haven't) acheived in a week! I blame retirement and not knowing what day it is, together with the fact that the weeks pass so quickly!
